Cob & Birdy - The Caretaker Animation

This animated short is inspired by the story of the Old Man of Storr, a Scottish folklore tale about a rock giant that lived in the mountains of the Isle of Skye. The animation was designed for younger audiences and focuses on environmental themes. The story follows the characters Cob and Birdy as they experience both the wanders of the nature and explore the responsibility to care for and preserve natural environments.
This was my final project for my HND in 2022, I created all the assets for this project bringing together all the skills I had gained over the course. The characters were modelled, rigged using Advanced Skeleton, animated and rendered in Maya, with textures done in Substance Painter, the backgrounds were produced in Photoshop and compositing was done in After Effects.
